Support My Walk for Mental Health Research

Did you know that 1 in 5 Australians experience a mental illness each year?

This October, I’m taking part in One Foot Forward to help Australians impacted by mental illness and suicide.

I'm walking to raise funds for Black Dog Institute to put ground-breaking new mental health treatment, education, and digital services into the hands of the people who need them most.

It would mean so much to me if you donated to support my walk.

Together, we can create better mental health for all Australians.

My Updates

one step at a time

My why: I stepped into a new role at work on 22 June 2026. I hit the ground and running with very little site training a team of 30, 2 control rooms multiple stakeholders. High stress and long hours, multiple traumatic events on site with a sprinkle of perimenopause has actually pushed me into a severe panic attacks, sleep deprivation, vomiting, no appetite, nausea, severe hyperactivity, risky behaviour. Thursday,17 September I got my medical results. Mornings are tough and the brain fog is somewhat difficult to navigate through considering I like to do my exercise, meditation & mindfulness in the mornings. Staying in Mosman. This place in this space give me a very calm, tranquil, healing space. I made the decision to complete the Black Dog 40 km’s in October to raise awareness for Mental Health in Australia. It feels like the system I’ve only just began to navigate is broken in many ways. Here’s getting my steps up and helping others. Trae West xxx
