👣 October update: I have officially entered the “what on earth was I thinking?” stage of my 150 km walk. 😂 My feet are unimpressed. My legs would like to unsubscribe. And I’m fairly certain my shoes are plotting against me. 👟🤣 But I’m doing it for a reason that matters enormously — raising funds and awareness for mental health through One Foot Forward for the Black Dog Institute. 🖤 If you can donate, please do. If you can share, please share. If you see me walking, give me a wave — or better yet, walk a few kilometres with me! 👣 150 km. One month. One foot forward at a time. 🖤 #OneFootForward #BlackDogInstitute #MentalHealthAwareness #150kmChallenge

Support My Walk for Mental Health Research

Did you know that 1 in 5 Australians experience a mental illness each year?

This October, I’m taking part in One Foot Forward to help Australians impacted by mental illness and suicide.

I'm walking to raise funds for Black Dog Institute to put ground-breaking new mental health treatment, education, and digital services into the hands of the people who need them most.

It would mean so much to me if you donated to support my walk.

Together, we can create better mental health for all Australians.

My Updates

Day 20

🚶‍♀️🐕 ONE FOOT FORWARD… AND OCCASIONALLY TWO FEET BACKWARDS! 🤣🤣 Well, here we are, 20 days into October, and I’ve officially clocked up 96km of my 150km challenge for the Black Dog Institute! 💪🥳 That’s well over halfway, folks! 🎉 Only 54km to go! Although I’m fairly certain my legs have lodged a formal complaint, my motivation has gone AWOL, and my walking shoes are considering early retirement! 🤣🤣 But here’s the thing… Mental health doesn’t take a day off, and neither does the importance of raising awareness. ❤️ Some days, putting one foot in front of the other is easy. Other days, just finding the motivation to get out the front door feels like climbing Mount Everest! And that’s exactly why this challenge means so much to me. 🌸 It’s not about how fast we get there. It’s about showing up, keeping going, and reminding people that even the smallest steps forward still count. 🥰 So, if anyone happens to see me wandering around looking like I’m negotiating with my own legs, feel free to give me a toot, a wave, or a swift motivational kick up the backside! 🤣🤣 And if you’ve got a few dollars to spare, please consider donating to this wonderful cause. Every donation, no matter how small, helps support mental health research and services. ❤️ 96km down, 54km to go. Challenge accepted! 💪🚶‍♀️ Now, if someone could just convince my backside to get off the couch, that would be fabulous! 🤣🤣 🌹 Be kind. Keep moving. And remember, nobody has to walk their toughest miles alone. ❤️ #OneFootForward #BlackDogInstitute #MentalHealthMatters #96kmDown54ToGo #KeepGoing #YouAreNotAlone #WalkingForMentalHealth

Day 3 - My Birthday 🎁

I went for a lovely stroll with my two furry babies today. It is the first time I have made an appearance outside (in this way) since I moved up here. So I am pretty chuffed that this challenge is helping me in the way I hoped it would..

I am drawing strength from each and every one of you out there participating 😁🌹 Thank you

Day 1 - boring treadmill

My first day of walking turned out to be on a treadmill!! The view over Brisbane city was pleasant enough but I am not the most coordinated person at the best of times, so I kept imagining myself going flying off the back or face planting, like you see in the movies 🤣🤣 For that reason, I only did 2kms and decided to make up the extra 3kms outdoors with my dogs 🐕 🐶

Getting close now guys 😊

I better start warming my old body up in preparation for the big 150 kms in October 😁

My intentions are to attempt some short videos during some of my walks, just talking about different things. No doubt, some will be interesting, some will be funny and some might just be me blabbering away about random stuff to get me through the day 🤣

Thank you again for your support and generosity 🌹
